Dunera Day at Hay
Saturday 7 September 2013
Dunera Day will commemorate the 73rd anniversary of the Dunera Boys arrival in Hay, which was a major event for the town.
Learn about the arrival of the 48 train carriages holding 2,000 prisoners that arrived in Hay on the 7th September 1940. The prisoners were interned in Hay's three prisoner of war camps. The internees were comprised of mainly German and Austrian Jews who had fled Nazi occupied Europe.
