In Transvaal Avenue, you’ll find Belinda International, stocking a treasure trove of international designers. Cross Street is home to jeweller Jan Logan, who has a celebrity clientele, and Mode Sportif, which is great to pick up designer contemporary labels. Milliner Nerida Winter’s bespoke hats are on Bay Street, as is Australian label Scanlan Theodore. Knox Street has Cosmopolitan Shoes, which is full of high-end footwear and accessories.

Double Bay also has a great offering of consignment stores, allowing you to access last season’s style without the price tag. Check out Secondo Double Bay on New South Head Road, APT57 on Knox Street or Revivre on Bay Street for pre-loved luxury designer fashions at bargain prices.

Stylish newborn, baby and children’s fashions can be picked up at The Monogram Mode on Short Street, along with toys, travel accessories and homewares. On Transvaal Avenue, Palmer & Penn specialises in homewares and furniture from luxury design houses, along with rare, antique and vintage luggage and travel trunks. A few doors down, browse a beautiful collection of antique furniture at Maison Et Jardin. Mud Australia on Kiaora Lane sells contemporary handmade porcelain and ceramics in pretty pastel colours. Looking for high-quality pieces from some of the world’s best interior designers and craftspeople? Drop into Ondene, a high-end furniture and homewares showroom.

Where to refuel

All that shopping works up an appetite, so stop for lunch and coffee to re-fuel. Indigo is an elegant cafe that serves beautiful breakfast and lunch fare in an al fresco setting. Little Jean offers a gourmet menu that heroes sustainably sourced produce, while 21 Espresso is a local favourite and one of the first coffee shops to introduce an espresso machine to Australia in 1957.

There’s also plenty of choice if you want to celebrate a successful day shopping with a glass of bubbles. Getting there

Getting to Double Bay is an unforgettable experience in itself, with a ferry ride from Circular Quay across one of the world’s most beautiful harbours taking less than 20 minutes. Alternatively, you can take a train from Central, Town Hall or Martin Place stations to Edgecliff for a short walk or bus trip down the hill to Double Bay.
