Distance: 111km south of Sydney

Start your South Coast adventure in the air by taking a scenic flight from the Illawarra Regional Airport at Albion Park. Experiencing the region’s stunning coastline and hinterland from Southern Biplane Adventures' open cockpit biplane is simply exhilarating.  With your feet firmly back on the ground, tee off at stunning Calderwood Valley Golf Course with breathtaking surrounds and the rugged Illawarra escarpment as a backdrop.  Each of the 18 holes has its own unique features, combining clear creeks and stunning scenery. Start your morning teeing off at Gerringong Golf Course where green fairways are side by side with the ocean. If you are lucky you may even see whales or dolphins! Continue on to Crooked River Wines and indulge in wine and beer tasting before settling in for some local cuisine in their restaurant Oak Room Eleven overlooking the vines.  From here head towards Jamberoo and relax in front of the fire at the historic Terragong 1858 Country House Bed & Breakfast for an experience unsurpassed in the region for luxury and exclusivity.

A day of action and adventure awaits! Join Region X for one of their marine and nature-based tours which includes a glass-bottom kayak tour. Or head back into the skies over a different part of the South Coast on a scenic flight with South Coast Seaplanes; if it’s whale-watching season you may be lucky enough to see these gentle giants as they travel along the coast. Montague Island is another prime spot for whale watching. You can also swim with seals here and see wildlife at Montague Island Nature Reserve, just off the coast of Narooma
