Adelong's main street is National Trust-listed, with some buildings dating as far back as the Australian gold rush; gold was discovered here in 1852.
Located off the Hume Highway in the Tumut area, Adelong is a charming and historic town that's perfect for visitors looking for a little peace and quiet.
Many visitors also choose to stay in Adelong for its easy access to the Snowy Mountains during peak snow season; however, it's also beautiful during the warmer months. Don't miss the heritage-listed Adelong Falls Gold Mill Ruins. Find out more about the town and its history with a visit to the Tumut Region Visitor Information Centre.
Drive a bit further afield to see stunning natural landscape and stop in to other area towns. Wilgro Orchards in Batlow produces and sells a range of apple varieties and other fresh fruit. You can also taste some local wines in Tumbarumba.
