Tumbarumba wine region

Discover the elegant cool-climate wines of the high country. The majority of grapes are pinot noir and chardonnay and the region makes award-winning sparkling wines. You can visit cellar doors for a tasting, including Courabyra Wines, Snowy Vineyard, and Tumbarumba Wines Escape. The latter two also serve delicious food to accompany the wines.

Snowy Mountains beer & spirits

Enjoy craft beers in Jindabyne at Kosciuszko Brewing Company and Jindabyne Brewing. Or grab an Aussie Ale from Tumut River Brewing Company. Wildbrumby Distillery makes gin, vodka and schnapps using local fruits, you can visit their distillery door near Crakenback for a tasting.
 

Snowy Mountains fruit & produce

Batlow is south of Tumut and home to one of Australia’s iconic ‘big things’ – the Big Apple. The town is famous for growing apples and you can celebrate the produce at Batlow Apple Blossom Festival in October and Batlow CiderFest in May.

Enjoy seasonal fruits from Wilgro Orchards' roadside stall and cellar door, and Mouat’s Farm near Batlow. Lovers of Perigord truffles can join a truffle hunt at Macenmist Black Truffles and Wines.

Snowy Mountains fish

The Big Trout is another iconic big thing in Adaminaby, northwest of Cooma. Ten metres high, the Big Trout is a symbol of the superb fishing in Lake Eucumbene and surrounding waterways. There are fly fishing tours in warmer months and you can enjoy a fishing adventure at Eucumbene Trout Farm, where you cook your catch.
 

Snowy Mountains festivals

Tumbafest is a delightful food, wine and music festival in February. Tumbarumba Tastebuds is a two-day celebration of the cool-climate wines and other regional produce in October. Beer lovers can rejoice the art of making craft beer at the Kosciuszko Craft Beer Festival in Thredbo in January.
