Big Trout - Adaminaby

View on location map

Address: Snowy Mountains Highway
Adaminaby, NSW 2629

Located 51 kilometres northwest of Cooma, Adaminaby, in the Snowy Mountains, is a popular trout-fishing spot, so it's an ideal place for the 10 metre high Big Trout to live. This huge fibreglass structure was built by Adaminaby artist, Andy Lomnici, in 1969 and is an icon for the beautiful mountain town of Adaminaby.

The iconic sculpture is being given a new coat of paint by The Friends of the Fish Committee and after this full restoration, she can once again proudly take her place alongside the 144 other “Big Things” scattered throughout Australia.
