Paroo-Darling National Park - White Cliffs

Paroo-Darling National Park located near the White Cliffs opal mining township and has outstanding conservation values. These are centred on the Paroo River wetland system, one of the most regular flooded systems in Outback NSW. Peery and Poloko lakes and their associated wetlands form part of the Paroo River overflow, the only unregulated river in the Murray-Darling Basin. This free-flowing river sustains its rich and diverse ecosystem.

The Paroo-Darling Visitor Centre is located in White Cliffs. Discovery Tours are conducted during (some) school holiday periods.

Campground: The Coach and Horses campground is located on the Wilcannia to Bourke road, and the campground is approximately 50 kilometres north east of Wilcannia. It has plenty of sites, good toilet and barbecue facilities with shelters. Well shaded, on the Darling River. A great place for bird watching, fishing and camping/caravanning. Campground fees and entrance fees apply.
