‘Sundays at Near River’ allows you to spend a morning partaking in the farms regular activities - you’ll help them feed the chickens, water and feed the sows and their piglets, collect some eggs, and then spend time in the market garden sowing seeds or mulching some beds. After all this activity they will then harvest fresh produce for lunch and sit down to enjoy a meal garnered from the fields. The menu is likely to include soup, salad and pork or chicken with a beverage.
A wonderful opportunity for children both young and old to connect with the land and discover where their food comes from and experience the delight of tasting truly fresh food. Foodies can expect a chat about their ethicial pastured raised practices and the multiude of benefits that they believe this has for the animals, the environment, and society in general. Nature lovers will have the opportunity to wander down to the river that forms the northern boundary of their property, and maybe skim some stones across the surface.
