Ellenborough Falls - Elands
Located on the Bulga Plateau at Elands, one hour's drive NorthWest of Taree on Tourist Drive 8, Ellenborough Falls are a spectacular site. At 200 metres, it is one the longest single drop waterfalls in the Southern Hemisphere.
A timbered walkway (641 steps) to the bottom of the falls with rest spots on the way provides a comfortable 30 minute walk. There is also a 10 minute walk to The Knoll where there are magnificent views looking directly across to the falls.
You can drive from Wingham to the Falls in approximately 45 minutes however there are 15 kilometres of unsealed road from Bobin to the Falls so please drive to the conditions of the unsealed road.
Note: load limits have been imposed on two bridges between Wingham and Marlee. These limits are: 12 tonnes on the Duffs Bridge and 8 tonnes on the Marlee Bridge.
Opening times
Accessible at all times. A kiosk operates on weekends and during school holidays. Detour signage is in place but if you are touring with a caravan or trailer, you may leave them at the Wingham Showground on Gloucester Road, Wingham (fees apply).
