South West Rocks lies at the mouth of the Macleay River, a half-hour drive from Kempsey. The area is renowned for fishing, snorkelling and diving. Fish Rock Cave, 2 km offshore from Smoky Cape Lighthouse, offers excellent dive conditions - you'll spot grey nurse sharks, turtles and spotted eagle rays.
Nearby Crescent Head is famous for having one of the best right-hand point breaks in the world thats' been attracting surfers since the 1950s.
