Nambucca Heads is the accommodation and entertainment hub of the Nambucca Valley region and neighbouring beach communities, with beaches well suited for beginner surfers.
Mostly small, forgiving waves can be had here, best when the sandbanks are set up along Main Beach and Swimming Creek. The coastal strip faces almost due east so it picks up most any swell that passes by.
Nambucca also has a picturesque river estuary, a joy for fisher-folk and anyone with a fancy for kayaking or canoeing. The town itself offers hotels, motels, family caravan/camping resorts and everything from cheap eats to fine dining.
Besides its collection of shops, pubs, clubs, hairdressers and beauticians, Nambucca is home to renowned board-shaper, Paul Joske. Paul has been hand-crafting boards and creating custom designs since 1970 and in 2006 opened a factory showroom in the Nambucca Industrial Estate.
