Tallawalla, Aboriginal for forest country, is perched on a hilltop overlooking the country town of Dorrigo, midway between Sydney and Brisbane.
Tallawalla is hidden behind a long hedge and is nestled amongst three hectares of formal gardens. There is a small patch of warm temperate rainforest on the property, with a short walking track. There is a great feeling of peace and tranquillity at the home. One can laze by the solar heated pool, relax by the wood fire in winter, play tennis and enjoy the hearty country breakfasts. The dining room is a feature of the retreat and is designed to maximise the stunning views over the plateau to as far as Point Lookout.
Tallawalla TeaHouse opens four days per week to the public (Thursday to Sunday). Bed and Breakfast guests can sample the teas and buy the teas and a range of tea wares, unusual and collectibles.
