Nature getaways on the Clarence Coast
The Clarence Coast is most famous for the World Heritage-listed coastal rainforest at Iluka Nature Reserve, a magnificent patch of wilderness in which to go bushwalking along its 2.5-kilometre walking track.
Natural attractions on Clarence Coast
You'll find stunning beaches, rainforests and nature reserves in this rich, fertile region on the North Coast. The Clarence Coast has a strip of World Heritage-listed coastal rainforest at Iluka Nature Reserve, north of Yamba and surrounded by Bundjalung National Park. This magnificent patch of wilderness has trails that are perfect for bushwalking.
Join a nature-based tour to learn about the resident populations of lyrebirds and bowerbirds. You'll also find seabirds, including shearwaters and terns.
Explore the unspoilt coastline of Yuraygir National Park, east of Grafton, which has pristine beaches, sand dunes and some of the best coastal walking tracks in the State.
Try your luck fishing in the Clarence River at Maclean or at Yamba where you can fish from the rocks or straight from the beach.
