Muirs Lookout - Wyong
Lookout provides a panoramic view of the coast from Lake Macquarie to Tuggerah Lakes. Fireplaces, firewood, tables, water and toilets are provided at the lookout for the convenience of visitors. Around the lookout, you will find that several of the tree species have been labelled. These are: Blackbutt,
Tallowwood, Forest She-Oak, and Rough-Barked Apple.
Points of interest on the trail: Tree ferns, board hole in Stump Grass Tree, termites nest, Blackbutt regeneration, fire damage, fallen tree, Giant of the
Past, ringbarking, Turpentine, rainforest, Bangalow Palm, buttressing, Sydney Blue Gum, vines and epiphytes, lichens, accumulation of litter, moist
Eucalypt forest, coppicing, and Sandpaper Fig.
All forest roads are dirt roads but suitable for cars. If going after heavy rain please check with the forestry commission. A forestry map is available at
Central Coast Tourism Visitor Centres in Kariong, Gosford and The Entrance which details all forestry roads.
Opening times
Accessible at all times, except in extreme fire danger or when roads are damages.
