Beaches in Toowoon Bay

Towoon Bay is a secluded and quiet locality ideal for weekend escapes. It's set against a protected beach for safe swimming and surfing.

About Towoon Bay

Nestled on a headland between two beautiful beaches, Toowoon Bay, on the Central Coast, is within minutes of grat beaches, dining and parklands of The Entrance and theTuggerah Lake. Chinese fishermen established a base here in the late 1820s, curing and smoking fish and sending it to Queensland, China and the goldfields. Toowoon Bay is still sometimes referred to as “Chinamans Bay”.

Toowoon Bay and Shelly Beach are clean, clear and patrolled throughout the year. If you’re travelling with young children, Little Bay has calm waters, protected from the surf by nearby breakwalls. Wyrrabalong National Park borders Tuggerah Lake and preserves the last significant littoral rainforest on the Central Coast. On the sea side of the peninsula is Norah Head and its historic lighthouse.

The hinterland attracts nature lovers and photographers. A wonderful range of wildlife can be found at the Wyrrabalong State Forest.
