Catherine Vale is a progressive vineyard with four alternative varieties planted. Verdelho originating from Portugal and Arneis, Barbera and Dolcetto from the Piedmont region of Italy. The Hunters jewels Semillon and Chardonnay
James Halliday continues to give Catherine Vale Vineyard a four-star rating with the Semillon receiving top marks, closely followed by Chardonnay and Verdelho. The Madeira rated 90 in the 2011 tasting.
