Train Stop Antiques and Cafe - Gundagai
Train Stop Antiques and Cafe is situated opposite the Dog on the Tuckerbox car park. Turn off Hume Highway at the BP Service Station five miles north of Gundagai.
The heritage listed trains built by Hudson Bros. in 1890 are representative of the Thow design BL156 first class compartment car then refurbished to BL356 saloon car design (CUB close-coupled set No. CUB 85 with toilets) added in 1933. They did the Darling Harbour to Richmond run and were decommissioned in 1966.
The trains are now home to Tuckerbox Antiques with a central cafe and dining car. Antiques are from various sellers and the cafe is run by Janet Clarke, serving home cooked meals, great coffee and Devonshire tea. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and lactose intolerant customers catered for.
Markets: 4th Saturday of the month, August - November and Feburay - May, 9am to 3pm.
Opening times
8:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm. Closed Christmas Day.
