The Cootamundra Bird Walk aim is to improve the health of the Muttama creek and remove exotics and plant native species to encourage wildlife such as birds, water creature, and butterflies.

In 2003 the Muttama Creek Regeneration Group was formed. In 2010 two corrugated structures (galah and kangaroo) were positioned near the John Rees bridge in Wallendoon Street. In 2011, Cootamundra's Men's Shed placed bird sculptures connected to Cootamundra.

Some of the wild life structures to be seen entering from Mackay Street are the Goanna, Ringtail Possum, Superb Parrot, Boobook Owl, Brolga, Rainbow Bee-eater, Tawny Frogmouth, Pied Currawong, Eastern Rosella, Azure Kingfisher and the Blue Faced Honey Eater.

Does not cater for people with access needs.
