The historic town of Corowa, situated on the banks of the Murray River, is sometimes referred to as the birthplace of the Federation of Australia. Corowa is a place where ancient river red gums meet 19th century architecture and historically significant buildings such as the Corowa Court House, built in 1887. This courthouse was the site of an 1893 conference which eventually led the country’s separate governments to unite and form the Commonwealth of Australia.

The Murray’s accommodation options will appeal to a wide range of travellers, with options to suit varying tastes and budgets. Caravan parks, motor inns and motels tend to be the most popular form of accommodation in the area. Caravan parks offer an easy and affordable place to bunk down for the night, while motels and motor inns come with benefits including room service, private bathrooms and wireless internet access. On the other hand, Corowa’s farm stays and bush retreats offer their guests the chance to sit back and relax by the Murray River in complete privacy.
