Designed and built by Philip Gidley King in 1875 (Tamworth’s first Mayor in 1876), the cottage is furnished with items mainly from the late Victorian period.

Bequests from notable Tamworth families enhance the exhibits. These include collections of portraits, photographs, furnishings and clothing.

The kitchen is a fully equipped late 1800s-style kitchen, complete with a bread oven, giving an insight into the pre-electric and gas period.
