Highlights
Family day out to Bowral
The International Cricket Hall of Fame in Bowral is a great day out for the whole family. Open every day from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm, this interactive, fun-packed museum is just a short walk from Bowral Station and has shady picnic spots, an oval and a great cafe.
Family day trips from Sydney
For $2.50 per person, your family can enjoy a fun day out with unlimited travel on Sydney's buses, trains, ferries and light rail every Sunday. The Southern Highlands is within easy reach of Sydney on the Family Funday ticket - from Central Station to Mittagong is a leisurely two-hour trip. Other stations are at Bowral, Moss Vale, Exeter and Bundanoon. Take your time to explore any of these towns on foot or by bus. You’ll find good cafes, museums, pretty gardens, book shops and playgrounds.
A Family Funday Sunday pass also takes you to the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan, Australia’s largest native, botanic garden. Trains leave Sydney Central every 30 minutes and take about an hour to Campbelltown Railway Station. Use your Funday Sunday ticket to travel by bus (with Busways) from the station to Mount Annan.
