National parks near Queanbeyan

Queanbeyan is surrounded by beautiful national parks and nature reserves which offer great opportunities for bushwalking. Deua National Park, to the south of Braidwood, is one of the State's largest natural forests. It offers excellent bushwalking trails and camp sites. You'll discover waterfalls and limestone caves including the Big Hole, Marble Arch and Wyanbene Caves.

At Googong Dam, 10 km south of Queanbeyan,you can enjoy fishing, sailing, canoeing or lazy picnics.

Pack a picnic and go for a bushwalk along the walking trail through Molongolo Gorge and enjoy spectacular views into the gorge itself. Just 10 minutes' drive from Queanbeyan, Molongolo Gorge Recreational Area has an adventure playground and picnic area with BBQ facilities.
