Family Room

Room and Breakfast. Double rate $170 per night. Four adults sharing are charged at $60 per person. Children under one year are free of charge. Ages 1-16 years charged at $40 each. Third child stays free in the family suite.
The original policeman's family residence is now a suite for your family or two couples who don't mind sharing an en suite between them. The suite is two rooms with a connecting door. One room has a queen size bed and the other, two single beds, with enough space for a crib and trundle bed for young children as well.

Each room has a DVD player with a huge range of movies to choose from for all ages. There are tea/coffee facilities, fans and dimplex heaters. The hot water bottles and doonas are cosy in winter.

Large glass doors open up to a paved area and the garden. The view of the mountains is particularly spectacular in the morning, given their eastery aspect.

Original jail cells

Room and Breakfast. Single occupancy to double/twin rate.
The Old Courthouse has four independent guest rooms available each with en suite, DVD player, tea/coffee making facilities, double or queen size bed, ceiling fans and heaters. The hot water bottles and doonas make for a very cosy stay in winter.

The rooms include two converted and very comfortable original jail cells that open directly onto the prisoner exercise yard. Prisoners would once have walked through there to reach the courtroom for their hearing.

The walls are quadruple brick with original bars and old iron doors at one end. There are also large glass doors that open to a paved area and the garden. The view of the mountains beyond is particularly spectacular in the morning, given their easterly aspect.

Twin Room

Room and Breakfast. Single in a double room $130. Twin share rate is the same as for a double, $170.
Two twin rooms are available with an en suite and direct access to a picturesque garden and the spectacular view of the mountains beyond, especially in the morning. Each has a DVD player with access to a huge range of movies, tea/coffee making facilities, fans and heating. One of the rooms has a double as well as a single bed for flexibility. Hot water bottles and doonas are a cosy addition for winter.

Araluen Old Courthouse Bed and Breakfast was built in 1886 during the gold rush era. Guests can enjoy the original courtroom, police room, prisoner exercise yard and two jail cells which have been converted to comfortable guests rooms with ensuite, sitting area, DVD player, tea/coffee facilities. The original quarters of the resident policemen suits families.

The tariff includes a cooked breakfast and in-house evening meals can be provided upon request. Self-catering is an option in the new guest kitchen, housed in the original gold store room. The local pub has a bistro Wednesday to Saturday nights.

An ideal venue for groups of up to 10 people or a peaceful getaway.

Enjoy a spa under the stars, the pool or a game of tennis. Relax in the garden or in front of an open fire in the old courtroom. All this with views of the beautiful mountains surrounding the valley.
