Wellingrove Fossicking Reserve - Glen Innes

Wellingrove Fossicking Reserve is located 200m north west of Glen Innes via Bonshaw and Wellingrove roads. Sapphire and zircon are found in clay above a weathered granite bottom from the surface 3 metres down. Strict rules apply here which are explained at the entrance to the reserve. Water is available in dams on the site. The clay should be well puddle before being sieved. Please back fill your holes. No camping permitted. Weekly and monthly permits are available. All permits available at the Glen Innes Visitor Information Centre.
