Bathurst Soaring Club is one of the best gliding clubs in Australia with eight club gliders (four two-seater trainers and four single-seaters) and two tow planes at Pipers Airfield just out of Bathurst.
Gliding is the ultimate flying experience. Gliders soar using the same air currents that birds use to fly, but have also been designed with the kind of aerodynamic efficiency that enables top speeds of up to 260 kph. Gliding gives you the freedom to explore the world from a unique birds eye view whilst enjoying a safe and challenging sport.
Take a joy flight any weekend or holiday. Simply turn up at the airfield on weekends and public holidays and the club will do their best to arrange a flight. To avoid disappointment, book ahead to ensure a flight will be available at your preferred time.
