Adventure in Mulwala-Yarrawonga
The Murray River flows though the twin townships of Mulwala-Yarrawonga, creating sandy stretches of beach. Join the skiers, fishermen and birdwatchers who happily share Lake Mulwala.
About Mulwala-Yarrawonga
This border town lies on the western shore of Lake Mulwala; the twin-town of Yarrawonga lies on the Victorian side. It’s a 90-minute drive west of Albury. The lake was created in the 1930s after a weir was built across the Murray River; now the lake is the focus for water-based activities, including fishing and water-skiing.
Things to do around Mulwala include picnics on the small river beaches along the banks of the Murray, fishing on the lake (try your luck at hooking the elusive Murray cod) cruises, paddleboats or canoe trips. Get on your bike and pedal the bike paths around Mulwala and neighbouring Yarrawonga.
