Adventure in Barooga
Barooga offers large sandy beaches along the Murray River as well as prolific birdlife and red gum forests. Popular activities include bushwalking, camping, fishing, swimming and water-skiing.
About Barooga
This popular Albury holiday destination on the Murray River is sister city to Cobram, across the river in Victoria. The Murray flows through the townships of Yarrawonga-Mulwala, Cobram-Barooga, Numurkah, Nathalia and Barham. Holidays here take on the relaxed, meandering flow of the river, with plenty to choose from.
Picnic or swim at one of the sandy beaches along the Murray River – Cobram is home to the biggest and most accessible at Thompsons Beach. Explore the town's lush botanic gardens or play a round of golf at the 36-hole Cobram-Barooga Golf Club. Don't forget to sample award-winning wine at cellar doors in the region.
