Winter is looming so give it the cold shoulder and rug up with hearty food. Ada tucks in at Maître Karl Café & Bistro in Willoughby and La Grillade in Crows Nest.

Maître Karl Café & Bistro

Maître Karl, nestled in the heart of the North Shore, has created a petite piece of Europe. Upon entering this suburban bistro’s inviting, chic interior of dark timber and brass you will receive a warm welcome.

The menu consists of French/Euro classics with specialities from Alsace, France, such as Tarte Flambée. Alsace is located towards the German border and used to be bi-lingual with French and German spoken there so it can be said that the food is French with a German twist. This works well at Maître Karl since the head chef Joel is from Alsace, France and Karl is from Germany.

The exquisite collection of Australian, German and French wine also enhances your culinary experience at Maître Karl.

Maître Karl welcomes you, your family, your friends and colleagues for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

La Grillade Restaurant & Bar

La Grillade Restaurant & Bar is a welcoming blend of classic and modern cuisines.

With an open kitchen framed with dark timber beams and French provincial décor, this restaurant is perfectly balanced with a New York style bar.

‘The Grill’ offers a unique combination of fine food, world-class wines, friendly service and warmth of atmosphere that is rarely found in today’s dining scene.

La Grillade has created a menu that is a well-crafted blend of classic and modern French cuisine. ‘The Grill’ also has a well-earned reputation for serving some of the finest char-grilled steaks available.

In fact, the restaurant has been the winner of the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide Award for “Favourite Steak” in 2005, and won the Restaurant & Catering NSW award for “Best Steak” in 2005/2006.

Behind La Grillade’s unique oak cellar door lies an impressive collection of fine wines. About 500 wines have been sourced from boutique wineries as well as the larger producers throughout Australia, New Zealand, France, Italy, Spain, Germany and the USA.
