Fishing

They are running a new learn to fish program available during school holidays and on weekends depending on demand by resident fishing expert, Paul Madden. Hes got all the experience and training from TAFE to give kids, and adults too, all the tips on how to reel them in. Paul has lived on the Central Coast since he was 2 years old and began fishing on Tuggerah Lake from the age of six.

During school and public holidays, Paul conducts fishing and prawning classes at the Two Shores Holiday Village for children (aged 5+) and families.

In he gets, in his waders and he teaches those who are willing to learn how to catch bait, where to find it, how to put it on a hook, casting off, reeling in, etc, etc.

Long Jetty Catamaran & Boat Hire

Another thing on the lake to do is a visit to Long Jetty Catamaran & Boat Hire. Some things never change and you can still get out on the lake in a pedal boat like Mum & Dad did when they were kids. They are located on the foreshores of Tuggerah Lakes and have the following available for hire:

  • 4.0mtr Maricat CATAMARANS - ideal novice sailing boats
  • ALUMINIUM RUNABOUTS (also know as Tinnies) - great for fishing
  • Sit-on KAYAKS (canoes) - single, double and triple
  • PEDAL BOATS - fun for all ages

No experience is necessary on any of their boats and no licenses are required to hire any of their watercraft. Safety equipment and instructions are provided. The kids are always welcome but must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.

Classes are generally 1=hours long, where children learn basic fishing skills which includes knots, tackle maintenance, fish identification, tides and how to catch bait.

The lessons are conducted on the foreshore of Lake Tuggerah which is situated within the village. All equipment is supplied but participants must wear protective clothing. Maximum of 6 people per class.
