Why go there
If you prefer your ski resorts small, friendly and family oriented, Selwyn Snowfields is ideal. For anyone new to snow sports, or if you’re developing your skills as a skier or snowboarder, this is one of the best places to start.
Selwyn is the best value winter playground in the country, with lift tickets about two-thirds the price of tickets at the bigger resorts.

Things to do
- Check out the toboggan park or try snow tubing at Wombat and Snowflake snow tube parks.
- Visit Selwyn Snow World, for kids from 18 months to 6 years where they can learn to have fun in the snow. There’s also a moving carpet lift and a jumping castle.
- Experienced skiers can head off on the 45 km of scenic trails that range from 2.5 to 5 km.
- Join a group or take a private lesson at the Snow Sports School – available daily for everyone from 3 years up.
