Sydney Cove Oyster Bar

Whether you’re a Sydney native or you’re just visiting for the day you’re going to want to get a good look at our pride & joy – Sydney Harbour. But why do it the hard way when you can put your feet up and have a couple of Sydney’s finest oysters at the Sydney Cove Oyster Bar.

Not only do they serve up the most delicious oysters here but they come with a side of Sydney Harbour Bridge when you bag a table by the water’s edge.

You can get your oysters done six different ways, but if you’re not crazy on shellfish, they have other delicious mains on the menu too.

But if you are an oyster lover, this is the place for you. You can eat oysters all year round because the best season for the Sydney Rock oysters is in summer, while the Pacific Oysters taste best in winter. The Oyster Bar sources Sydney rock oysters all the way from Tweed Heads to Batemans Bay, while the Pacific oysters come from Tasmania and South Australia.

At the Sydney Cove Oyster Bar they get deliveries every day and when business is booming in summer, they often get a few orders a day. This means that the oysters you order from the Oyster Bar are always fresh and taste delicious, no matter when you visit.

Some of the dishes you may find on the menu:

  • Sydney Rock & Pacific Oysters with Lemon & Caper Aioli
  • Caviar lime & dill oysters dressed with lime & dill crème friache, garnished with Yarra Valley salmon caviar

  • Porcini Mushroom Risotto with stuffed baby bello russo capsicums with pumpkin coulis
  • The Ultimate Oyster Bar Indulgence with whole lobster, blue swimmer crab, bug, prawns, oysters & mussels with a salad garnish & Turkish bread

Quayside Brasserie

The Quayside Brasserie opened in 2000 and along with the Millennium it brought fantastic food at reasonable prices.

Exorbitant prices aren’t a problem here, but when you take one look outside you’ll have a million dollar view to go with your meal. Quayside Brasserie has a sensational outlook over the Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House and whether you’re local or just passing, this is a view you can’t afford to miss.

The restaurant is light and modern and the front is wall to wall with glass panels so your view of Sydney Harbour is uninterrupted. If the weather’s fine it’s always a great idea to get a table outside to soak up the sun and watch people promenading around Circular Quay.

Marley Anker owns the restaurant and calls the cuisine here ‘Modern Sydney’ because it incorporates a bit of everything Sydneysiders love. And because the Quayside Brasserie is open all day for lunch, pre-theatre meals, dinner, and post theatre meals, it’s easy for this restaurant to become your favourite haunt in the city.

When you’re after a winning view and food that’s just as good, head to the Quayside Brasserie where you won’t be disappointed.
