Hat Workshop

Autumn racing season is here! We’re giving viewers a few tips - not racing tips unfortunately, but rather fashion tips.  Of course the basis of every great race day outfit is the hat. So we’ve found a place that offers hat making workshops – perfect for creating a unique  show race stopper.

Hat Workshop
The hat making workshops are designed to attract people into the wonderful world of hat making. This introduction offers a simple and imaginative approach to hat making, allowing and encouraging participants to achieve something they may have always wanted to do, but just didn’t know where to go.

The course caters for all levels from textile students, young racegoers, serious hat wearers and those just looking to extend their craft portfolios.

There is a choice of hats that can be made.  These range from cocktail fascinators to 60’s style Dior inspired hats, right through to pillbox styles (made famous by the original Jackie O) and Chanel inspired cloche hats. With so many hats to make many participants come back for a second and third time.

The workshops are all hands on, not just demonstrations.  You’ll be under the expert  guidance of professional tutors. During the course you’ll use some specialised equipment and supplies and you’ll learn traditional methods of hat making and of course some very useful short cuts!

You’ll definitely get individual attention as participant numbers in each workshop are kept to a minimum.
