Discovery Program

Reporter: Lea Wilson

Discover the secrets, experience the past and taste the treats of the bush on this Aboriginal culture and heritage tour.

This walk, talk and tour is a weekend activity, but it's not just for the kids – everyone can join in.

You'll learn the art of traditional rope making and basket weaving, as well as experience a bush tucker tour where you'll learn how traditional foods were collected and used. Plus you'll see which plants were collected for medicinal purposes.

This Aboriginal cultural tour delivers an amazing insight into how Aboriginal people used the land to survive, their traditional practices, the bush tucker they ate, the tools they used and their spiritual beliefs from the Dreaming. It's an experience to remember.

The tours run during the Easter and Christmas School Holidays – and on demand at other times of the year. They are run at various locations around the Kosciuszko National Park and Tumut and go for at least 2hours. You just need a group of ten people to book in for a tour.
