Why go there
Camping out or travelling by caravan, motorhome or campervan gives you a sense of the freedom and adventure that's hard to beat. Travel by road around New South Wales and you can head off on interesting side trips that often make holidays so memorable.
Camping and caravan sites can be found throughout the State, in large cities including Sydney to remote locations in the Outback. Travel along the NSW coast and you'll be able to pitch your tent or park your campervan at sites with (literally) million dollar views, for a fraction of the price.
In fact, many of the best sites are on Crown Land, government-owned property that is often some of the most prized property in the State.
Facilities now range from onsite cabins with ensuites to internet access, with kids' playgrounds and swimming pools.

- Go fishing at Durras Lake or prawning at night while staying at one of four campsites at Murramarang National Park.
- Watch the light and sound show at Jenolan Caves 'Temple of Baal' while staying in the Kanangra Boyd National Park in the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area.
- Visit the famous 'Walls of China', a 30-km-long dune foundation in the Mungo National Park, and pitch your tent at one of Mungo's two campsites.
- Unpack your surfboard and head for the famous surf break of Seven Mile Beach, across the road from Lake Ainsworth Caravan Park near Lennox Head.
- Camp at the Warrumbungle National Park and check out the stars at Siding Springs Observatory in Coonabarabran, the ‘Astronomy Capital of Australia'.
