Sydney’s balmy weather means the outdoor lifestyle can extend well into darkness.
In summer the city’s beachside and rooftop bars are at their best.

 

Beachside bars

  • At famous Bondi beach, Bungabar is tiki-terrific, while Icebergs perched on the southern tip is still one of the city’s most glamorous and spectacular bars.
  • Just a little south, the Coogee Bay Hotel has Sydney’s biggest beer garden, while Barzura is worth visiting for its potent Wedding Cake Island cocktails.
  • Manly’s Henry Afrikas has three levels and an 80-cocktail list. While it’s not technically on the beach, the new Hugos on Manly Wharf offers famous pizzas and plenty of beer, wine and cocktail choices to wash it all down.
  • A lazy afternoon in the Newport Arms Hotel’s waterfront beer garden is a Sydney tradition.
