Getting out on Sydney Harbour and enjoying the water doesn’t have to cost a fortune … just get the family together and set sail … after all, a family that sails together, stays together.

 

 

Balmoral Windsurfing, Sailing & Kayak School has been renting & teaching people to wind surf, sail and kayak since 1989 and is owned and operated by people who are passionate and knowledgeable about water sports.

Balmoral is the harbour's premiere beach and an ideal spot to catch the prevailing North-Easterly sea breezes. Balmoral is Sydney's top sailing venue, and was home to the 2000 Olympic sailing events.

 

 

There are four beaches to choose from, each providing a safe and beautifully clean swimming environment and many a secluded corner to catch up on that much needed R&R. The sheltered bay means it is one of the safest and easiest places to launch & learn to sail, windsurf and kayak.

Hire and tuition on Balmoral Beach is run from Balmoral Sailing Club.

 

Balmoral Sailing School

Balmoral Sailing School has a range of equipment to cater for beginners through to advanced sailors. There are about 50 boards and rigs ready to go ... from Starboard Starts for your first time out on the water, F2 Primes for tackling intermediate challenges with the safety of a centreboard; through to F2 and Mistral slalom / wave boards for bump and jump.

 

 

Balmoral Sailing School also offers a unique long term hire plan allowing you to take the gear anywhere on the coast.

At Balmoral there’s a fleet of dinghies for hire with single handers; crew dinghies and multi-hulls. There’s plenty of fun to be had in any conditions for every skill level.

Open 7 days from 9am – 5pm.  Bookings essential.
Hire starts from $15 an hour for kayaks including life jacket and wetsuit. Lessons are $95 per hour.
