Avor Giveaway

Host: Mike Whitney

Mike is exploring a few new spots in Sydney Harbour on the Arvor 20. He’s hopping off at Chowder Bay and taking a history tour of the headland. Finished on top, time to go under the bay, and enjoy a dive, with Plunge Diving located on the harbour at Chowder Bay. Chow time at Chowder Bay? Enjoy the food at the newly opened Ripples. And thanks to Collins Marine, one lucky Sydney Weekender viewer can spend their entire summer enjoying Sydney Harbour if they win the Arvor 20.

Diving/Snorkelling

Located at Chowder Bay, this is the only scuba dive centre actually positioned on the Sydney Harbour waterfront. Plunge Diving is situated in a historic waterfront building which is over a century old. Built of sandstone the building was once a Mine Laboratory for the Navy. Nestled into bushland, Chowder Bay is a jewel of serenity in such a busy modern city as Sydney.

Directly in front of the dive centre is a wharf, and the marine-life rich beach of Clifton Gardens is only meters away. With a wharf and beach so near, access to scuba diving and snorkeling is very easy.

Ripples at Chowder Bay

Ripples at Chowder Bay, the younger sister of Aqua Dining and Ripples at Milsons Point, is an alfresco café housed on the deck of the Submarine Miners Depot at Chowder Bay in Mosman.

The opening of Ripples at Chowder Bay was a momentous occasion as this is the first time in over 100 years that the general public can access this historic space, once reserved for secret military operations used to defend Sydney Harbour.

With unrivalled views of Clifton Gardens and Sydney Harbour, diners can enjoy an Italian inspired menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven nights a week.
